Lee C. Hansen
Lee is a fanatical fan and participant in the sport of lacrosse, having played the sport since 4th grade in Connecticut and going on to play at Deerfield Academy and division one at Bucknell University for the legend Sid Jamieson. He gravitated to playing defense almost immediately but particularly loved playing man-down D. Lee is on the Board of Riptide but prefers to spend his time on the sidelines coaching and inspiring the right technique and decision-making. He has coached the Riptide U12A and U11A teams as well as our inaugural U7/U8 group of boys. Lee has also coached the Bay Area AllWest Elite squad. Lee is married and the father of three passionate, budding lacrosse players.
Coach Langkammerer is a Bay Area native and graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep, class of 2001. While at SI, coach Langkammerer helped the program earn 3 consecutive State Championships (99-01) while earning all-league honors. Recruited to Salisbury University, he would play there for nearly two years before returning to California to help his father fight cancer. He finished his collegiate career at Sonoma State where he helped lead the team to a National Championship appearance and a WCLL title in addition to all-tournament team honors. Coach continues playing today for the Olympic Club here in San Francisco. Peter brings considerable coaching experience having served as assistant head coach at UC Berkeley for four years, head coach at University high school for two years and is going on his fourth season on the staff at St. Ignatius College Prep. When he is not coaching or with his son Whit, coach Langkammerer enjoys kitesurfing at Ocean Beach or in the Bay.
As a Baltimore native, George's passion for lacrosse runs deep. He started playing in 4th grade and continued to play through his middle school and high school years at St. Paul’s School for Boys in Brooklandville, Maryland. He played four years as defenseman at Brown University, graduating in 1991. Following college, he played for the South Bay Lacrosse Club in Los Angeles for five years. He was a founding member of The Olympic Club lacrosse team where he played defense for 12 years. George enjoys coaching kids and also coaches his younger son’s YMCA basketball team. George has been a Head Coach at multiple boys youth levels of the Riptide program and currently serves as Director of Coaching. George is in Equity Sales and enjoys surfing, squash, golfing, running and open-water swimming in his spare time.
Scott fell in love with lacrosse during middle school in western New Jersey, playing at Hunterdon Central High School and later at Swarthmore College. Scott has been a coach/instructor in not only lacrosse, but also swimming and martial arts, and is excited to return to the game and help coach younger players including his son and daughter.
Kenn grew up playing lacrosse in Connecticut. He played for Loomis Chaffee School where he earned All-America honors. He then played for Williams College as both LSM and Defenseman. He was named to the Western New England All Star Team and invited to play in the North-South All Star Game. Kenn also trained as a midfielder early on, and as a goalie having attended the New England All Star Goalie Camp. Kenn is currently coaching Riptide U8.
Originally from New Hampshire, Nick was a 4-year starter in high school at attack and 4 years at midfield with Arizona State University. Nick is coaching his 3rd year with Riptide where he has coached U14 & U13 rookie teams.
Josh McHugh grew up in the Philadelphia area, picking up his first lacrosse stick at age 10. In high school, he earned all-state honors at The Hill School, where his team won the 1986 Pennsylvania state championship. He played attack for 4 years at Yale, helping the team reach the 1990 Final Four and the 1992 NCAA quarterfinals, earning all-Ivy honors and a spot in the 1992 North-South all-star game. After college, he played for the Philadelphia Lacrosse Club for 3 years before moving to San Francisco, where he played for Marin Lacrosse Club for 12 years. He lives in San Francisco's Cole Valley neighborhood, and surfs on weekends when he's not coaching lacrosse. His daughter and son play for Riptide u10 and u12 teams.
Jessica Liston – Girls Program Director
Jessica Liston grew up in Annapolis, MD. She skipped tennis tryouts to give lacrosse a try in high school and went on to play defensive midfield at Salisbury University. While at Salisbury she served as captain both her junior and senior year, and finished with 4 conference championships and 3 national championship appearances. She has coached at the youth level and moved to San Francisco in 2017 for a new adventure and career opportunity. Jessica is a recruiter for a CPA firm and enjoys coffee, exercise and traveling on her down time.
Susana grew up in San Diego CA. She has 14 years of lacrosse experience and attended Arizona State and San Diego State with a graduate degree from University of St. Augustine. She started coaching with the Riptide during the 2016 season. She is a Physical Therapist with a specialization in sports medicine. She enjoys sports, animals, lacrosse, surfing, running, and the ocean!
Erin has been involved in lacrosse for 30 years. She started her career in high school as attack wing at Garden City High School in Long Island. She went on to play a University of Virginia as a low defender. She joined the Riptide in 2016 and is the Girls U15A Coach and also works as an Account Manager.
Chloe grew up in Denver, CO and played lacrosse at Santa Clara University. She has been playing lacrosse for 9 years and joined the Riptide staff in 2017 as the U13A coach. She works as a Retail Buyer and enjoys hiking, traveling, long boarding, and lacrosse.
Mike Gerrity grew up in Colorado just as lacrosse was starting its boom in the state. He picked up his first stick in a sandlot game in 8th grade and was hooked. Mike went on to play midfield for 4 years at Cherry Creek High School and earned All-State Honors in his senior year. Mike continued his career playing club lacrosse at the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2008, Mike was thrilled to pick up a stick again to teach the game to his two sons and daughter . Since then Mike has coached at every age group and level for both boys and girls game. Mike focuses on teaching lacrosse basics, having fun and sharing his passion for the game. Mike currently serves as President of the Riptide Lacrosse Club. Mike has coached at the girls u14 level for several years and in 2018, his Riptide Black team went undefeated and won the NCJLA championship.
Julia grew up in Alexandria, VA and has been involved in lacrosse for 18 years. She attended Washington & Lee University where she was elected Captain and nominated to the All-Conference team. She has coached youth lacrosse for five years and joined the Riptide in 2016 coaching U11. She is currently earning her MBA and enjoys the outdoors, running, and sports
Colin grew up in Ridgewood, NJ and played attack on the school’s first state championship team in 1990. Colin continued his playing career at Washington and Lee University, where he was selected captain and earned all-league and All-America honors. Colin has coached lacrosse at the youth level and brought his enthusiasm to the Riptide in 2016. Colin is in wealth management and lives in San Francisco his wife and two children.
As a native Californian, Sura has been involved in lacrosse for 11 years including collegiate experience at UCSB and has been coaching with the Riptide since 2014. She enjoys lawn games, backpacking, and all forms of competition and currently works as a Marketing Manager.
Brian grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois and attended Saint Louis University. Has been involved in lacrosse for over 20 years and is one of the founding members of the lacrosse program at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL. The program at Loyola has found great success with multiple state titles for both the boys and girls programs. Brian started coaching with the Riptide in 2017. He is a Creative Director and enjoys his family, the outdoors and sports. Both of his daughters play Riptide U10 and U12 Lacrosse.
Deven has 12 years lacrosse experience. She started playing lacrosse in the 5th grade in Stratham NH and played for the Seacoast United Lacrosse Club throughout high school. She played four years at Endicott College and was a team captain her senior year. She loves her chocolate lab Tuck, working out, lacrosse, yoga, and the ocean and works as a Retail Supervisor.
