Meet the Board

Dini Stephen
Steven Dini (4)
Steve Dini grew up in the Bay Area and played lacrosse in CO and CA growing up. He spent 20+ years coaching High School and College lacrosse. He is a parent to Anne and Louisa in 4th grade and is current Chair of the Board and works in education.
Matt Eccleston

Matt Eccleston grew up in New England and played lacrosse in highschool and college at Brown before relocating to San Francisco.  With his two daughters, he's been learning the women's game and coaching girls' teams with Riptide for the past three years, joining the board last year.  Matt is a technology advisor and investor.

Mark Guthrie grew up playing lacrosse on the East Coast through college and has coached boys teams in the Bay Area for 10+ years.  He is an economist working in biotech.

Marc Chaput grew up in CT and had never picked up a lacrosse stick until his kids asked if they could try lacrosse. He is a parent of a Riptide player. He is the current Treasurer and works in medical device investment banking.

Julie is a native of Philadelphia, PA, where she played all sports as a kid. In high school, she was a 4-year varsity letter athlete for both the field hockey and lacrosse teams. Julie came west to the Bay Area, where she attended and played on Stanford University's Women's D1 lacrosse program all four years. Since graduating from Stanford, Julie has been working in the renewable energy industry and is currently working in Procurement at a small energy storage developer, Plus Power LLC. She has coached Riptide U12A girls for two years now and is actively involved in coaching the fall ball program as well. This past spring (2023), she was assistant coach at International High School for their first-year girls program.
Chuck grew up in Mill Valley, CA and fell in love with Lacrosse at a young age. Upon moving back from the east coast, he started coaching for All West Lacrosse (2014-2019) and Marin Catholic high school (2014-2018). He also was Director of training for Ross Valley Grizzlies (2019-2023), Director of Operations for ADVNC Lacrosse (2019-present), and Head Varsity coach at Casa Grande High School (2019-2023). Chuck believes in having "PMA" (Positive Mental Attitude), and coaches with "RAE" (Respect, Attitude, Effort). He is committed to the growth of Lacrosse in San Francisco.

Brian Galvin is originally from the Greater Boston area, where he played lacrosse growing up and in college at Bentley University. During and after college, Brian coached club and high school teams in the Boston area, before moving to San Francisco. He currently coaches Boys U10 and kindercrosse for the Riptide. He has a son and two daughters and works in finance for a technology company.

Robin Brinckerhoff grew up in Massachusetts playing several sports, but he never picked up a lacrosse stick until his daughter started playing Kindercrosse for Riptide. Robin now has two daughters and a son playing for Riptide, and after years of supporting his children from the sidelines, he has joined the Riptide coaching team and board. Robin is a financial planner and investment advisor.

Steven Dini
Originally from Cleveland, Joni played at Shaker Heights where she was named to the All-Ohio team, and continued her career at Ohio University, where she played and was president of their women's club team.  Joni has two boys, and for the past three years has been coaching with Riptide.  Off the field, Joni manages clinical operations at a concierge primary care group.

Casey Vogel grew up in Lewes, Delaware, where she played lacrosse throughout middle and high school. After moving to San Francisco in 2008 ,she developed a passion for coaching youth lacrosse and has been involved ever since. Casey is an educator/administrator at Convent & Stuart Hall, where she has been for 17 years. She is also a proud parent of four children. Two currently play for Riptide, and two are eager to join when they're old enough.

Mike Russell - Lacrosse has been a central part of his life since growing up in Connecticut, continuing through his collegiate career at Duke University, and now in San Francisco where he played with the Olympic Club and Coached All West. He was introduced to Riptide four years ago through his daughter, who plays at the U12 level, and now also has his son in U8, while volunteering as a coach and contributing directly to player development. Professionally, he is a Managing Director at KKR leading North America Credit Trading, bringing expertise in portfolio management and strategic decision-making that translates well to board-level responsibilities. He is eager to support Riptide's growth through community outreach, fundraising, and helping broaden access to the program across San Francisco.

Steven Dini (19)

Mary grew up in Sacramento, California and played four years with the UCSC Women’s Club Lacrosse team, serving as president and captain while earning Team MVP and First Team All-League honors. She has coached at Los Gatos High School and with the Red Hawks U14 program, focusing on player development, teamwork, and confidence. Mary is preparing to attend physical therapy school and is excited to bring her passion, leadership, and energy to the Riptide community.

Originally from Pittsburg, Felicia played lacrosse and soccer at Shady Side Academy, captaining both teams. Felicia went on to play lacrosse at Stanford, she coached for a local club team TreeLax as well as Castilleja High School. Since graduating from Stanford, Felicia has stayed in the Bay Area and worked mostly in France. Felicia has coached our U12 Select girls for the past 3 seasons.
